February was such a short and busy month. I blinked and it was over. I had so much that I wanted to create and discuss for Black History Month and it’s my favorite month ever. But it’s over and all we can do is move on. So for March, I have for you, three new pieces of content for you. Trying my hand at these cute little magazine formatted designs that I’ve been seeing and we’re gonna do three little bites here and there. Let’s do it.
Did I interview myself? Yes. Was it slightly therapeutic and reflective? Yes. Was it hard to interview myself? Also yes. Will I do it again? Who knows.
But Logan is now eating 2 little snacks/day and I’ve really enjoyed making her meals but being responsible for her nutrition is another source of anxiety that I didn’t anticipate. I don’t want her getting bored of certain foods and also don’t want her getting too dependent on certain foods that she doesn’t want to experiment… see what’s happening here? Anyways, her absolute favorite food is avocados (and we all know what’s happening with those prices) and it’s so simple for her. She’ll eat it mashed, she’ll eat it with beans, she’ll eat it with toast. Easy. But yes, baby girl has been a major part of my month of course so I’ll move on.
*let me dig into my notes for this*
The Recruit (Netflix): SWEET BABY BOY NOAH CENTINEO. I love a good political thriller and The Night Agent isn't hitting for me this season so I'm fully on board with this show.
*unfortunately just found out they didn’t get renewed for a third season but fortunately you don’t have to binge 9 seasons just to catch up*
School Spirits (Paramount+, first season on Netflix): Okay let me say this, the first few episodes are gonna give off that teeny-Pretty-Little-Liars-Secret-Life-of-American Teenager vibes. But stick with it! It's so good. I think the way they do spirits and the afterlife is very interesting and refreshing (which I admit is weird to say about death but I have a dead dad so my POV can be trusted). If you like shows that can get a little dark, it’s for you.
Paradise (Hulu): Okay we got Sterling K. Brown and we got James Marsden. Not sold yet? Okay it's a political thriller. Still no? Alright... it's created by the guy who made This Is Us. I lost you? Okay come back! Look we know that show is known for twists, riiight? If you like twists and you like a little "oooh what's happening?!" I suggest you try this. (also you may or may not see Sterling's booty, think... Will Smith in I, Robot. Exactly.)
Deli Boys (Hulu): I know this is part of March but I'm automatically on board, ask me wh— it's Poorna Jagannathan. Google her and then get on board. The show is funny. She's fabulous. She plays the Deli Boys’ auntie and is an absolute boss. Get on board. If you like a show based on drug rings and people trying to come up with some humor and gore, it’s for you.
I just finished a 72-hour shift alone with baby girl (husband was on a work trip) and LET ME TELL YOU… COFFEE SAVED ME THIS WEEK. There’s a spice shop in Atlanta that I love (happens to be right next to Trader Joe’s, how dangerous right?) and they have different cinnamon types and Vietnamese (Saigon) cinnamon is unmatched. I have put it in every single cup of coffee since. It’s the perfect cinnamon for me. It’s stronger than McCormick’s (idc what the articles say) and not too expensive. And I ran out of my usual Bianco Doppio for my lattes and the husband recommended Costa Rica. It’s sweet on its own and very malty and mellow. Perfect for iced coffee as well. APRROVED.
Skin Care & Makeup Pickups!
I’m prepping for a well needed vacation and I have skin and makeup goals for my vacation and this summer: I wanna be dewy and sunkissed 24/7. And since it was my birthday last month, I took advantage of the minis and samples from Sephora and Ulta to try new things.
Osea algae body oil: I’ve been wanting to try this since I was pregnant and this is the perfect timing. It smells so good, like a hint of lemon. Slather it on for the glow. And right after a shower too.
Peter Thomas Roth Hyaluronic Moisturizer: I have dry skin and this feels like a cloud (I actually think that’s in the name). One of the best moisturizers and I believe in investing in skin care because I’ve seen some things and have been through it.
Saie Illuminator in Sunglow: I put this on right before my primer and I should try to do it after. The bronzy glow is immaculate.
Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Dewy Setting Spray: Be warned, a lot comes out when you spray it so don’t yell at me if you cough a lot. But your makeup WILL NOT MOVE. It’s the perfect finish for dewy makeup.
